Obituary for Bessie L. King

Bessie L. King, 88, of White Plains, New York passed away on March 21, 2020. She was born on November 12, 1931 in Pensacola, Florida to Lillie Smith and Herman Williams. Bessie married Joe King on September 8, 1952 in George County, Mississippi. She was a housekeeper at the Ruth Taylor Institute for 21 years, retiring on March 1, 1991.

Bessie is survived by her two children, Lillie Marie Fowlkes, Bronx, NY and Kathy Coleman, White Plains, NY; three grandchildren: Rachon A. Coleman, Eric King, and Vincent Fowlkes, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren; her brother, Herman Williams, Jr., New Orleans, LA; and her sister, Early Lee Washington, Kenner, AL.

She is predeceased by her mother and father: Lillie and Herman Williams along with her siblings: Herman Williams,Jr and Early Lee Washington and her oldest grandson Jonathan King.
