Obituary for Brian W. Murphy

Brian Walsh Murphy, of Stowe, VT and formerly of Armonk, NY, passed away suddenly on June 22, 2019. He was 34 years old. Brian was born March 11, 1985 in Mt. Kisco, NY to Raymond W. and Mary Patricia (nee Guilfoyle) Murphy.

Brian spent his childhood summers at Orienta Beach Club in Mamaroneck, NY where he enjoyed sailing the Long Island Sound. Brian attended Wilbraham and Monson Academy, Salve Regina University, and Johnson & Wales University where he received a degree in the Culinary Arts. He was an Executive Chef in various restaurants in New York City, Stamford, CT and Stowe, VT. Brain was very active in the Stowe community and was a volunteer with the Stowe Fire Department where he recently received the Rookie of the Year award. Brian loved life in Vermont and was an avid snow boarder, hiker, and golfer.

Besides his loving parents, Ray and Mary Pat Murphy, Brian is survived by his brother Matthew Walsh Murphy and sister-in-law Kerry A. Murphy, his nephew Jack W. Murphy, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Words cannot express our sorrow. Ray, MP, Matt, Kerry, and Jack, although Brian’s life was short, the fact that he was always surrounded by love and family made it perfect. God sure must be enjoying Brian’s company❤️
