Carol Jane (McFadden) Hart, 85, of Jacksonville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Cypress Village Assisted Living Facility. Carol was born in White Plains, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and Marian Elizabeth (Wilson) McFadden. Carol graduated from White Plains High School where she excelled at basketball and archery. She had fond memories of swimming at Lakenridge Club and grew up with her brother Walter McFadden and extended family of aunts and cousins residing in the home her father built. Carol enjoyed an early career at AT&T in White Plains. In 1956, she married Clarence Knowles (C.K.) Hart of North Castle, NY and they made their home in the Quarry Heights neighborhood alongside close family and friends. After staying home to raise three children (Donna, William “Billy,” and Warren), Carol returned to a career in office management with BOCES of Westchester where she succeeded in computer operations. Quarry Heights, well known as the home of Birchwood and Rocky Ledge Swim Clubs, and Cranberry Lake provided a tight-knit community and special enclave within the Town. Carol and CK attended North White Plains and Valhalla Methodist Churches. They enjoyed playing bridge with their friends, watching the Mets and Jeopardy and piecing together family genealogy.
Carol and C.K. retired to Niskayuna, NY in 1992, where they lived another happy and productive 20 years near their son Warren (Catskill) and daughter Donna (Latham) and their families. They served in the Niskayuna Reformed Church and enjoyed bridge club, daily crossword puzzles, solitaire, extensive reading, and keeping a meticulous home and yard. One of their favorite pastimes was to take a drive for lunch. If they left early enough in the day they easily logged 100 miles and reached various tables in Vermont, Connecticut, or Massachusetts. These became known as “C.K.’s and Carol’s 100 Mile Lunch.”

Recently, Donna and son-in-law Dave, who Carol loved as a son, moved to Jacksonville, FL and Carol joined them in their new home. This was the arrangement for several years before Carol needed full-time care at Cypress Village.
Carol is the beloved wife of 55 years to the late Clarence (C.K.) Hart. She is the mother of Donna Elizabeth (David) Amiraian, William “Billy” Robert Hart, and Warren David (Eden Elizabeth Scoville) Hart. Carol is the sister of Walter William McFadden of White Plains. She is the cherished grandmother of Dana Elizabeth Amiraian (Richard) D’Souza, Marissa Elizabeth Amiraian (Geoff) Reeves and Merimon Lilly Hart and the great grandmother of Brooke Elizabeth D’Souza. The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the kind staff of Cypress Village and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida for their wonderful care and compassion. The family would like to make a special announcement that they are now serving potato chips, mint candies, and ice cream in Heaven, and that it is better to go ahead and serve Carol rather than ask if she is hungry. A grave-side service will take place at the White Plains Rural Cemetery on May 20, 2019 at 1:00pm, where many generations of the Hart and McFadden families are buried. To leave special messages for the family please feel free to email Donna Amiraian at or Warren Hart at

Private Condolence

Please accept my most sincere sympathy for the death of your loved one. We can find comfort in the word of God because it assures us that "there is going to be a resurrection" (Acts 24:15).  God promises to give life back to millions of people who have died, and he desires to do so very soon.

A servant of God from the past, Job, asked him: “If a man dies, can he live again?  I will wait all the days of my compulsory service (sleep in death) until my relief comes.  You (Jehovah) will call, and I (Job) will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands” (Job 14:14, 15). God is longing to give life back to those who have died.

Perhaps these words do not calm your pain reflecting on the divine promises found in the Bible will give you the hope and strength to keep going until all of God’s promises are fulfilled.  May these words bring you and your family much comfort from Jehovah God, the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1: 3, 4.
