Clare & Charlie spall

Dear --- Donald, Don, Uncle D, Donnie, Mr. Dufresne, Dad, Uncle, (and other names I cannot say aloud, lolololol),

Both Charlie & I and Steven, Keith & Shawn are truly saddened and devastated that our long-time friend, is no longer going to spend time with us at HYC on the back of our boats, in our home or just being around. No more Lloyds together, no more fishing trips to get the “BIG ONE” tuna, shark etc….. You were there for Mr. Will and all of them who fondly called you Uncle D.

We have known you, Barbara Anne, Donna and Danny for over 45 years and know you are more than friends to us. You all are our extended family!!!......

We skied together, owned a ski lodge together, join HYC together (you sponsored us), Went on boating trips together or just hung out having dinner and drinks……… You and Charlie were like the picture “Grumpy Old Men”. You fought like Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon and you made up like them also. I used to laugh at how many times you did not see eye to eye but the next day were back to normal. Lolololol. You used to tell everyone drink apple cider vinegar or white vinegar. Use muriatic acid in you engine or how to make sushi or recipe that you said you created but they were really Barbara Annes. lolololo… ….You will be truly missed.

We were the only ones to have the huge parties. Charlie & I had the Christmas Party every year and you had the huge sleep over winter wonderland parties, with sleigh ridding, ice skating (on your homemade pond), riding the 3 x 4’s all over your property, food drink etc. I remember your brothers who were characters just like you…….. We could not stop smiling and laughing when you all were together. You loved going to California to visit your beautiful sisters and working in the winery…….The stories you told us about California, your Aunti May, Mom, Dad Cousins in Nova Scotia, Dad, Mom, family were so interesting.

We will miss your sneaky laugh, your twinkle in your eye, your jokes, and your voice.. You were a mascot at HYC………….

Everyone loved, Donald, Don, Uncle D, Donnie, Mr. Dufresne, Dad, Uncle *and other names I cannot say aloud – lololol)

RIP my friend. I do hope you were greeted by all of your family and friends on the other side and your transition was easy. You will always be remembered and truly missed.

Clare & Charlie.

We will miss your bright smile and joyful presence on the dock and in the clubhouse. You were one of our most favorite members at HYC. Fair winds Don.
