Obituary

Obituary for Jeanetta I. Harding

Jeanetta I. Harding was born on June 15, 1944 to the late Shealey Harding and Madora McCallum in Hanover, Jamaica West Indies.

Jeanetta passed away on Monday, January 20, 2020 in Greenburgh, New York.

Jeanetta had fifteen siblings; four brothers and eleven sisters. Nine siblings predeceased her; two brothers and seven sisters.

In July 1996 Jeanetta moved to the United States to seek a better life. Upon arrival in New York, she worked as a Home Health Care Aide for many years until she had to retire to care for her ailing mother whom she cherished.

Jeanetta first came in contact with Jehovah’s Witnesses while living in Jamaica, and after pursuing her Bible education with the Witnesses she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah by water baptism on December 21, 1985.

As a long time dedicated faithful servant of Jehovah, Jeanetta spent many hours sharing her Bible based beliefs with family, friends and neighbors.

Jeanetta enjoyed cooking and some of her favorite dishes to prepare were fried plantains, curry chicken, peas and rice. She was a generous hostess who shared these dishes with family and friends in her congregation. She also loved to sing and dance. Growing plants was another passion.

Jeanetta is survived by three sisters; Beryl Harding of Yonkers, NY Norma Harding of Ocho Rios, Jamaica West Indies and Doreth Harding, of Greenburgh, NY. Two brothers; Neville and Alando Harding of Greenburgh, NY along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and worldwide association of brothers and sisters.
