Marion D. Madden, a lifelong White Plains resident, passed away June 2, 2020 at the age of 87. She was born September 3, 1932 to the late Frank and Louise Madden. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt and friend and was a devout Catholic in every aspect of her life.
In 1954, Marion became a Registered Nurse and spent her nursing career at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, retiring in 1984. She ran the Operating Room at a time when women fought for their place in the medical field and during this time she commanded the respect of doctors and nurse alike.
She loved reading, gardening, traveling, everything Irish and "she enjoyed a tall glass of Johnnie Walker". She lived a life full of wonderful friendships and beautiful memories.
Marion now joins her beloved family that have passed. She was truly blessed. She is survived by her nieces; Barbara (Gary) Gagnon and their sons Christian and Eric, Patricia (John) Bellom and their children; John, Jeffrey, Brian and Katie and Susan (Doug) Scholz and their children, Kevin and Steven along with 7 great nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her brothers; Frank, Robert and Edward.
Marion's last years were challenging as dementia took its toll on her. Should anyone care to donate in her memory, please consider the Dementia Society of America.
A memorial mass for Marion will be planned in the near future. Please check back periodically for any updates regarding her services.
