Obituary

Mary Anne Mullen , remembered with love, passed peacefully of natural causes on March 26, 2020 at The Bristal Assisted Living in White Plains. This proved to be a beautiful example of life coming full circle as this very same location was originally St. Agnes Hospital, where Mary Anne was born 71 years prior.

She was the only daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Reynolds) Mullen and loving younger sister to Charles Mullen (Dobbs Ferry, NY), Thomas Mullen (Southbury, CT) and the late Edward Mullen (Rye, NY).

Mary Anne had deep roots in the White Plains community. She graduated from White Plains High-School and went on to work as a loyal AT&T employee for 32 years.

An avid reader, she also loved to travel the world with visits to Austria, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and her favorite, Ireland. Since her father immigrated from County Longford, Mary Anne, a dedicated family historian, would often visit family who lived there. Over the past few years, one of Mary Anne’s hobbies included tracing her family ancestry all the back to the early 1800s.

Mary Anne was a beloved Aunt to 27 nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Known as “AMA” by those closest to her, she never missed a family members birthday or special milestone, always marking them with one of her kind acts of generosity.

She was the best Aunt, listener and confidante. She will be remembered for her sass, smarts, fierce loyalty, feisty spirit and a memory for family history that rivaled Rain Man. Above all, Mary Anne valued her strong Catholic faith, Irish heritage and more than anything else, her family.

Details on a private memorial service this summer will be shared. Private interment Tuesday March 31, 2020 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations can be made in Mary Anne’s honor to WHITE PLAINS HOSPITAL FOUNDATION.

i worked with Mary many years at AT&T including the last 17 years working together in different engineering departments. she was a great friend. a couple of weeks ago I received her birthday card to me. i don't have a smartphone so I can"t post any pictures.
when I first started in Sept 1967 I was in the typing pool and Mary was working in the message center both of us on the second floor, Although we did not see each other in the last few years we always exchanged birthday and Christmas cards. she was a wonderful friend and enjoyed her pictures of her friends and family and her vacations. May she rest in peace.

Mary Ann escorted me throughout Ireland as a 7 yr old and kept me out of trouble except when that Donkey kicked me for which she had a great big laugh. Will miss you Mary Ann. Love your nephew , Dennis P. Mullen
