The Golden Apple Chorus is heartbroken that our Beloved Mary has left us for the Choir of Angels.
They may not know it yet, but they have been Blessed with not only a beautiful voice, but a truly amazing, caring Heart, and a generous nature which is always willing to help.
Mary joined the Golden Apple Chorus in August 1985. Initially singing Bass, Mary later changed to Lead. With great enthusiasm, Mary assumed many administrative rolls over the next years. In 1986 she was appointed to the Board to fill a vacancy and in 1987 was elected to a two year term as President.
Besides working as the Show Chairperson in 1986, 1989 and 1991, Mary also assisted with many other committee responsibilities.
Later, Mary transferred to sing with the Greater Nassau Chorus on Long Island before moving to Florida. While there she sang with the Women of Note Chorus in West Palm Beach.
Mary returned to the Golden Apple Chorus in Nov 2015, and quickly began to offer assistance in whatever way she could. In May 2016 she was elected to the Board and worked as Event Coordinator. Mary also took on the monumental job of upgrading the Golden Apple Website. With the help of her grandson, David, Mary became our Webmaster Extraordinaire!
Golden Apple Chorus also owes a great debt of gratitude to Joe. If it wasn’t for him, we would not have enjoyed these years with Mary. He brought her to every meeting and stayed throughout business meetings, chat sessions and rehearsals. A few of which may have actually been entertaining. His love for Mary and desire to help her be a part of the singing she so loved, has also won him a special place in all our hearts.
Although we will miss her lovely smile and voice, we know that the suffering is over for her. May she Rest in Peace.
