Salvatore J. Scialo, died September 12, 2020 at the age of 94 at The Grove @ Valhalla. He was born October 12, 1925 in the Bronx to the late John and Anna Scialo.
Salvatore served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 and was a Purple Heart recipient.
On September 18, 1949 he married his wife, Virginia. She pre-deceased him in 1998.
He went on to a successful career as owner of the Cross County Diner in Yonkers and later Ginny's Kitchen in Mt. Vernon.
He was a past member of the Yonkers Masonic Lodge and Kiwanis Club. He was also a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and served as Past Commander of the Newburgh VFW.
He is survived by his children; Thomas (Cathy) Scialo of Blauvelt, NY, William Scialo of Darien, CT, Gerald (Diane) Scialo of Mamaroneck and Charles (Susan) of Highlands Ranch, CO. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Thomas, Gregory, Stephanie, Sarah, Charlie, Jennifer and Christopher.
