Vito Gonnella, 89, of West Harrison, New York passed away on Friday, May 15, 2020. He was born in Guardia di Lombardi, Italy on May 8, 1931 to Elisa (nee D’Ambrosio) and Vito Gonnella. Vito married his wife, Josephine Castellano, in St. Anthony of Padua Church in West Harrison on January 25, 1958. He was a landscaper and owned Vito Gonnella Landscaping, retiring in 2002 after a 44 year career. Vito was a hard-working, dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed large family gatherings at his home. He also enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and wine making.

Vito is survived by his four children, Vito (Lisa) Gonnella of Harrison, New York, Joseph (Jeanmarie) and Serafino Gonnella of West Harrison, New York, and Elise (Michael) Oppedisano of Purchase, New York; eight grandchildren: Vito, Cara, and Joseph Gonnella, Michelle (John) Puma, and Michelle, Joanna, Anthony, and Michael Oppedisano; and his great grandchild, Giulia Puma. He is predeceased by his wife, Josephine, and his parents.
